A 47-year-old farmer identified as Kwasi Badji has allegedly stabbed his 52-year-old rival Kudzo Danyo, who is also a farmer at Okanta, near Kadjebi, in the Oti Region.

An eyewitness who wanted to remain anonymous said there was a meeting on April 8, 2024, to address a misunderstanding between Danyo and his wife, Madam Brinna.

According to sources, Badji was having an affair with Danyo’s wife, which is why the meeting was held.

Badji was not invited to the meeting but reported to the meeting venue.

The witness said that Danyo rained insults on his wife during the encounter, which infuriated Badji and led to a fight.

Badji subsequently pulled a sharp knife and stabbed Danyo multiple times.

Residents attempted to rush Danyo to the hospital for medication attention, but he died on the way.

Subsequently, Badji fled into a bush and remained in hiding for days.

The eyewitness said the suspect returned to town on Tuesday, April 9, ostensibly to gather some items to escape, but was arrested by the Kadjebi Police.

The suspect is currently in police custody, helping with the investigation.
