A 47-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl at Kasoa Kuwait, a community in the Greater Accra Region.
Information gathered indicates that Efo Emma lured the minor into his room and sexually assaulted her on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
The suspect brought the little girl to his room when the victim’s mother had left for the market.
A tenant in the house stated that he heard the minor’s cries from the tenant’s room.
Hence, she knocked on the door, but Efo Emma did not respond, and trying to open it proved futile because he had locked it from the inside.
The tenant then asked the suspect why he had kept the girl in his room and refused to open the door when the minor was crying.
Efo Emma did not respond; consequently, the tenant raised an alarm, which caused some other residents to rush to the scene.
They forced Efo Emma’s door to open, only to discover him naked and smeared the victim’s private parts with pomade after smearing pomade over his penis.
He was captured and taken to the Tuba Police Station, where he is now being held.
The minor, who was in pain, was transported to the hospital for a medical examination.
Following the incident on January 27, 2024, the police arrested the suspects, who had since made two appearances before the Mampong Magistrate Court to face prosecution for their alleged actions.
The case sent shockwaves through the community and raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students in educational institutions.
