The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has launched investigations following a bomb scare that disrupted arrival procedures at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday, December 28.
Parts of the airport were restricted and videos circulating on social media showed passengers lying on the floor.
A bang was heard in the video as one passenger indicated that there were close to the exit.
The development brought activities at the Terminal 3 to a standstill for hours after the airport authorities called officials from GAF to come and handle the situation.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Specialists in full gear were seen conducting an assessment of the area.
Other security officials with sniffer dogs paraded the scene as the place was cordoned off.
The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) later confirmed in a statement that an abandoned bag was spotted at about 9 pm forcing an invitation to the military to investigate the situation.
“The Base Ammunition Depot Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces was immediately brought in to conduct a preliminary assessment of the bag and its contents. The bag was subsequently taken away for further investigations, the outcome of which will be made public,” the release said.
The GACL also apologised for the inconvenience at the airport and assured travellers of utmost safety.
“Management of GACL wishes to apologize for the disruption in the arrival facilitation process during the period and assures the travelling public of its commitment to ensuring their safety and security at our airports,” the statement added.
