Stop treating Ga’s like we are not Ghanaians– Jupitar
Ghanaian Reggae/ dancehall musician Michael Okine better known as Jupitar has bemoaned the lack of support for some musicians in Ghana as a result of their tribal background.
According to the musician, celebrities, especially musicians who come from the GA tribe, hardly get the needed support from industry players.
In a twitter post, he stated that “this whole industry is a set up and if you be ‘Ga’ like myself, @shattawalegh, @iamkingpromise or @dkbghana etc certain kinda support you go suffer or you no go get kraa no matter the effort.”
This must stop, time they stop treating GA’s like we are not Ghanaians… it’s enough !!!! https://t.co/TfQDhKfVyH

Subsequently, Jupitar highlighted that the media has been mute over his music career as he had clocked some major achievements in 2022 that needed to be acknowledged but were not.
Was the first Ghanaian artist to ever grace this stage and the media was mute about it, I remember last year I had an event and @Hitz1039FM and some foolish boy made some foolish statements and yet they refused to acknowledge all the great achievements… God go punish you ppl pic.twitter.com/kT8LF5EUrS

He further stated that people refer to him as a lazy musician but do not patronise or support his craft.
They call me lazy when they don’t even know a song on my 20 tracks album ..the always pin my comments to a particular artist when I’m fighting for equality… but they know im the best at what I do with or without media support, Chale we just no want make noise.. tour23 soon!

Reacting to Jupitar’s claims, some fans shared varied thoughts on the musicians comments.
It wasn’t about you dropping an album, it’s about you promoting your craft. You don’t drop an album and just think it will blow without putting enough work to promote it. Invest in quality PR, connect with others, invest in yourself. Don’t just drop a link and think it will trend

I used to think you were a Jamaican back then. I loved your style and music but I didn’t hear from you for almost years. I thought you have shun doing music. You lost track of your development and fame at a point and is what is having an effect on you. Change your beats as well.

You one of my favorite artist but am highly disappointed in you with this unnecessary statement. You don’t need any hype if your works are visible. You are smarter than this de general.

I understand, what you are saying but I also think you and your management should have gotten you some interviews so that you will use that platform to talk about your show. You know most or all the presenters at most radio stations and Tv stations.
