Nine more dead as Ghana reports 908 new cases in two days
Nine more people have died from coronavirus, as Ghana confirms 908 on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, the Ghana Health Service reported 597 new cases and announced 311 cases 24 hours later.
The country’s death toll has also increased to 112.
Although the country’s covid-19 cases shot up to 16,742, the number of active cases are coming down. From 4,097 on Saturday, the country’s active cases now stand at 3,910, as of Sunday, June 28.
The number of recovered patients is pegged at 12,720
The data also indicates that 290,365 cases have been conducted across the country, out of which 103,525 was routine surveillance and 186,840 through contact tracing.
Ghana recorded its first case of covid-19 case on March 12, and its first death from the virus on March 21, while the first person reportedly recovered on March 26.
