Narrating the incident Mr  Nsiah said that since every Tuesday was a market day, the district assembly officials saw an opportunity to sensitize the market women and traders on the government’s COVID-19 protocols.

Two military men and the District Health Director embarked on the trip in the official vehicle of the District Chief Executive who had to attend to other critical matters and hence was not part of the team.

According to Mr Nsiah, the team were met by the robbers halfway into the journey and alleged that the robbers appeared to have finished an operation and were escaping.

On seeing their Vehicle, the robbers who had blocked the main road ahead fired shots indiscriminately at their approaching car with some of the bullets penetrating the windscreen of the vehicle and killing the driver instantly.

“They shot the driver,  a motor rider who was also plying the road and another man who was sitting in front of his own house,” he narrated.

According to Mr Nsiah, the sudden nature of the attack by the robbers took the informed military men in the DCE’s car by surprise but upon realizing that the situation at hand the soldiers pursued the robbers who managed to escape through the bush

Mr Nsiah said the police at Manso Adubia were informed and they quickly rushed to the scene  and conveyed the bodies of the 3 dead people  to the St. Martin Hospital at Manso Agroyesum.
