The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr Awal Mohammed, has assured Ghanaian entertainment enthusiasts that Afro Nation will be held in Ghana this year.

In an interview, the minister stated that the government, in partnership with Event Horizon Entertainment Limited, organizers of the show, are working behind the scenes to ensure that the 2023 Afro Nation show becomes memorable for fans.

He also refuted claims that the show will not occur as planned due to Nigeria hosting its version this year.

“Afro Nation has not been taken away from Ghana. We even had a meeting last week. We discussed it. There are certain demands they want, and we are trying to look at how to collaborate. It has not been taken yet. But we have alternatives,” he said.

The government of Ghana signed a deal with Event Horizon Entertainment Limited to host Afro Nation in Ghana for five years.

Afro Nation was first held in Ghana in December 2019 at the Laboma Beach in Accra.

The concert was put on hold for about three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Afro Nation was founded by Adesegun Adeosun, aka SMADE of Smade Entertainment and his partner Obi Asika.
