President Nana Akufo-Addo has reassigned Stephen Amoah, the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and Nhyiaeso Member of Parliament (MP), as the Deputy Minister for Finance.

His appointment follows the unfortunate passing of Deputy Finance Minister and MP for Ejisu, Dr John Kumah on Thursday, March 7.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin, this decision takes immediate effect as of Tuesday, April 2.

Following the reassignment, the President has appointed Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, the MP for Achiase, as Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.

“President Akufo-Addo is hopeful that Parliament will, once again on a bipartisan basis, expedite the approval of his nominee, so he can join the government forthwith, and assist in the delivery of his mandate for his second term in office,” it added.

Below is the statement from the presidency.
