Akufo-Addo woos investors at Dubai Expo 2022

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has entreated global investors to choose Ghana for their business establishments due to the prospects of the Ghanaian economy.

Touting the advantages of doing business in Ghana at the Dubai Expo 2020, the president stressed said, “Ghana is ready to do business”.

The Dubai Expo aims to forge new partnerships and inspire ground-breaking solutions across key industries worldwide.

“We are the new commercial capital of Africa by virtue of our hosting of the secretariat of the Africa Continental free trade area. We are the second-largest cocoa producer in the world. We are the largest producer of gold in Africa.”

“We are endowed with considerable deposits of bauxite, iron ore, manganese, lithium, oil and gas, diamond, and timber, and we are geographically closer than any other country to the centre of the planet,” President Akufo-Addo outlined.

He pointed out that Ghana’s investment potential was diverse and encouraged people with business interests to explore all that the country had to offer.

“Today, we are the safest country in West Africa. We are ranked third in the ease of doing business in Africa. We are the largest producer of gold and the second-largest cocoa producer in Africa. We are a country that is geographically closer to the centre of the world,” he pointed out.

The president is also expected to hold bilateral talks on matters of mutual interest with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

President Akufo-Addo will also participate in a Business Forum under the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and hold meetings with other investors interested in doing business in Ghana.

He left Ghana yesterday, March 7 and is expected to return on March 10.

The president was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, and the Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Keyerematen.

In his absence, the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall act in his stead in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
