Andre Ayew: Ghana and Swansea City on alert as injury forces forward off
Andre Ayew was taken off after just nine minutes of Swansea City’s game against Wycombe Wanderers in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The Swansea City deputy captain who is also the team’s highest scorer this season with 15 goals was replaced by veteran Wayne Routledge.
With just four rounds of matches to the end of the regular season, a considerable layoff will force the 31-year-old out for the rest of the campaign.
The club is currently third on the league standings and looks likely to use the playoff route as their possible way back into the elite division after their relegation in 2018.
Swansea City will be sweating to know the diagnosis of Ayew’s injury because he is very important to their fight to gain promotion.
