Ashaiman assault: Don’t fuel the fire; you can’t fight — Samini cautions civilians
Ghanaian reggae dancehall artiste, Samini, has warned civilians against making comments that could trigger another violence between them and the military over the killing of Imoro Sherif, a soldier.
Unknown assailants reportedly stabbed the 21-year-old trooper on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Consequently, scores of military officers stormed the area, resulting in violence and brutalities meted out to Ashaiman residents.
The residents were beaten up and assaulted by the angry soldiers who stormed the area.
A few days after the incident, Samini has advised the residents of Ashaiman not to make any offensive statements since the issue is not fully settled.
According to him, it would be better for the people of Ashaiman to remain silent and never utter a word since the military is not happy over the killing of their fellow.
“What can a civilian say after this statement? Watch your mouth, my youth. There’s always the right terminology to justify an action or inaction, and that to condemn a reaction or rebellion… Know to which side you belong and act accordingly. Don’t fuel the fire; you can’t fight”, he tweeted.
Samini commented on his Twitter page after the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) explained their actions after the murder of the trooper.
