Bad pitches in Ghana affecting football – Eric Addo
Former Black Stars defender, Eric Addo has expressed concern over the poor state of pitches in Ghana.
According to him this adversely affects the quality of play of players in the country.
Speaking in an interview, Eric Addo opined that this is why Ghanaian strikers are mostly wasteful in front of goals when playing in the local leagues.
“About creativity, we have it here but finishing is always the problem because you cannot compare the European style of the pitches [to the ones] we have here,” the ex-Black Stars defender said.
Eric Addo after retiring is now a scout for the Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven.
He is in Ghana on a working visit in the company of PSV Technical Director and Head of Youth Coaches, Ernest Faber.
The pair have visited Ghanaian lower-tier side Attram De Visser Academy and will engage in other activities before returning to the Netherlands.
