A newly acquired Mercedes-Benz with the registration number DV 7975 has caught fire unexpectedly at Anyaa, Accra.

The incident happened yesterday, Sunday, May 19, 2024.

The vehicle unexpectedly burst into flames in the middle of the road, leaving the driver and passersby in shock.

Despite the swift response from good Samaritans, the fire was too intense to control.

The car was completely engulfed before emergency services could arrive, and people desperately tried to save it from the rapidly spreading fire.

The driver, although shaken by the incident, managed to escape unharmed.

This incident comes shortly after another vehicle fire in Kumasi, where an SUV erupted into flames near Adum STC.

Information gathered indicates the fire erupted in a moving private car in the middle of the road along the Adum STC stretch in the Ashanti Region.

The unregistered SUV, suspected to have overheated, started burning from the front.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke and flames emanating from the SUV, prompting immediate calls to emergency services.

The prompt arrival of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Fire Service personnel was crucial in managing the situation.

Despite their efforts, the front of the vehicle was completely burned, rendering the SUV severely damaged.

The personnel advised vehicle owners to ensure their vehicles are regularly checked and maintained to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The prevalence of car fires has raised concerns about vehicle safety and the effectiveness of firefighting measures on the road.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
