Black Sherif, Worlasi Pay Courtesy Call On Vodafone After VGMA Triumphs
Reigning Artist of the Year Black Sherif and the winner of the Vodafone Green Award, Worlasi have paid an official visit to the management of Vodafone Ghana after their glorious wins at the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The meeting was to show appreciation to the supporters of the annual award scheme that honors artists making impacts through music in Ghana and around the globe.
Management of Vodafone Ghana congratulated the two artists for the enviable awards at the event.
According to management, the Vodafone Green Award is a new initiative that has come to stay to encourage the planting of trees in Ghana.
Worlosi was acknowledged for planting trees at Darkuman Nyamekye to support the Green Ghana Project which according to the management of Vodafone Ghana is laudable.
“Vodafone’s recognition of this project will go a long way in spreading awareness for individuals to start planting trees across Ghana.”
Black Sherif, aside from winning the main Artist of the Year, chalked up other awards such as the Popular Song of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Best Hip-hop Song of the Year, and Best Music Video.
Blacko speaking at the meeting said “After the show, I had friends reaching out to congratulate me and I realized how huge this was. I’m so grateful for the support and recognition.”
For the past 12 years, Vodafone Ghana has been an integral partner of the VGMAs, having a considerable impact on the growth of the Ghanaian music industry.
Patricia Obo-Nai, CEO of Vodafone Ghana, reflected on the success of the VGMAs and the role her company has played.
Moreover, she congratulated Black Sherif and Worlasi for their achievements at the award ceremony.
