Board Chair of Legon Cities donates to Oti Muslim community

The Board Chairman of Legon Cities Football Club (FC) and Council of State Member for the Oti Region, Richard K. Atikpo, has donated items worth thousands of cedis to the Muslim community in the region.

The items included cattle, bags of rice, assorted drinks, water, cooking oil, packs of Indomie noodles, biscuits, and a cash donation.

The gesture was to support the activities of the Muslim community in the Holy Month of Ramadan, which ends on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

The Communications Manager of the Club, Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang, who represented Mr Atikpo, said Mr Atikpo was interested in the physical needs of the people and their spiritual needs.

The Regional Chief Imam Salihu Yussif, on behalf of the Muslim Community, received the items in a short ceremony at Ahamansu in the Kadjebi District.

Imam Salihu Yussif thanked Mr Atikpo for the donation and pledged to use the products for the entire community.

He also used the opportunity to call on Mr Atikpo to assist in constructing an Islamic Secondary School and offer scholarship opportunities for brilliant but needy Muslim students in the region.

They also made  passionate pleas to the Group to further strengthen its support to orphanages and hospitals.
