Bus driver shot dead in robbery operation

It is reported that a bus driver believed to be in his early thirties identified as Sheriff Jamal has been shot dead between Atebubu and Amantin in the Bono East Region.

Sheriff Jamal is reported to have been stopped by the robbers and shot in the head and immediately died on the spot.

Information gathered revealed that Sherrif had left Kumasi around 11 p.m. on Friday night with passengers hoping to arrive at Yeji before dawn to cross to Salaga when the incident occurred.

Passengers in the commercial vehicles were robbed, as well as three other vehicles traveling in the same direction.

Sheriff was a commercial driver in his spare time and according to sources, he also worked with the National Ambulance Service.

According to Islamic tradition, he was buried on Friday, March 10, 2023, around 4:30 p.m. at Salaga in the Savannah Region.

In the same vein, a man believed to be a taxi driver has been killed and hanged on a tree at Gomoa Akotsi in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

Investigations conducted by police indicate that the deceased struggled with the assailants before they killed him and hanged him on a tree along the roadside.

The incident happened on Friday, March 10, 2023, around 5:30 PM.

The taxi driver was allegedly hired by the unknown assailants and directed towards a bush where he was killed and his taxi cab taken away.

The Gomoa Ojobi police command deployed officers to the crime scene, removed the body, and deposited it at the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
