CAF CONFED CUP: Dreams hold Zamalek to goalless draw in Cairo

Source The Ghana Report

Dreams FC took a giant step in advancing to the final of the CAF Confederations Cup for the first time in their history, following a hard-fought goalless draw against Zamalek SC at the packed Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, April 21.

Zito’s team entered the match as clear underdogs against the illustrious Zamalek, boasting five CAF Champions League titles and one CAF Confederations Cup triumph in the 2018/19 season.

Despite Zamalek’s dominance in possession (64% compared to Dreams FC’s 36%), the Ghanaian side displayed remarkable resilience, thwarting their opponents’ efforts throughout the game.

While Dreams FC managed just one shot on target compared to Zamalek’s six, Abdul Karim Zito’s squad will take many positives from their performance in the first leg.

The Reigning MTN FA Cup Champions build on this performance as they prepare for the second leg scheduled at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 28 in Kumasi.
