Celebs pay glowing tributes to Jayne Buckman – Owoo

Following the passing of popular arts writer, Jayne Buckman- Owoo, a number of celebrities have eulogised her with many describing her as a remarkable force in the industry who dedicated herself to the creative industry.

“Aunty Jayne as I fondly call her was a special human being. Loving, supportive and always there when you need her. She calls to check up on me and the kids very often and is always positive and happy. She called me on my birthday to wish me well as usual.

“It’s sad to see such a beautiful soul depart so early. I have so much love for her but I know God loves her more. I believe she’s resting in the faithful arms of the Lord! She will be forever in my heart. Rest well Aunty Jayne”.

I call her Corporal Lakour because I featured her in a movie where she played the role of a detective and the character’s name was Corporal Lakour. The last time we met was at the Graphic Showbiz Forum last month where she invited me and afterwards served me some drinks and finger foods.

If she needs anything from you, it is best you just give her and be free because you will not have your peace of mind. She was such a lovely person and I am personally going to miss her”

Ms Jayne Buckman-Owoo was born on Tuesday, September 11, 1973, in Accra. She had her primary school education at St Theresa’s School, North Kaneshie, Accra.

She then proceeded to St Mary’s Secondary School, Accra, and later enrolled at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) in 1999 for a Diploma in Journalism.

Jayne was survived by her mother, Madam Anna Williams, a son, Henry Kojo Agyekum, and sister, Patricia Kwesi-Kumah.
