Celebs pay glowing tributes to Jayne Buckman – Owoo

Following the passing of popular arts writer, Jayne Buckman- Owoo, a number of celebrities have eulogised her with many describing her as a remarkable force in the industry who dedicated herself to the creative industry.

Here are tributes from some players in the creative industry:

Fiifi Coleman (Actor and Producer)

“I was deeply saddened when I heard you were gone. I challenged the call. Texted you on WhatsApp right away and waited for a response. God indeed has you now and I know you’re at peace with Him.

“You were a special friend I could count on. While you may not be physically present, the impact of our friendship will continue to resonate in the lives you touched. I will miss you dearly.”

Kafui Danku (Actress)

“Aunty Jayne as I fondly call her was a special human being. Loving, supportive and always there when you need her. She calls to check up on me and the kids very often and is always positive and happy. She called me on my birthday to wish me well as usual.

“It’s sad to see such a beautiful soul depart so early. I have so much love for her but I know God loves her more. I believe she’s resting in the faithful arms of the Lord! She will be forever in my heart. Rest well Aunty Jayne”.

Andy Dosty(Radio Presenter)

“Jane Buckman Owoo, the affable, intelligent and sweet “dark black sister”. Her fights with me not picking up her calls wouldn’t stop until I “pacified the gods with some coins”. OmG, I’ll forever miss her”

Socrate Sarfo(Movie producer)

“It is quite unfortunate such a calm, charming and beautiful friend is no more. I call her Corporal Lakour because I featured her in a movie where she played the role of a detective and the character’s name was Corporal Lakour. Ever since, we have been friends and she will call to check on me and my family.

The last time we met was at the Graphic Showbiz Forum last month where she invited me and afterwards served me some drinks and finger foods.

If she needs anything from you, it is best you just give her and be free because you will not have your peace of mind. She was such a lovely person and I am personally going to miss her”

Ellis Adjei, Founder of Golden Age Creative Arts Awards (GACAA)

“Jayne was a great woman. Dolphin House Production will miss you greatly. I appreciate you a lot and the time we have been together”.

Ms Jayne Buckman-Owoo was born on Tuesday, September 11, 1973, in Accra. She had her primary school education at St Theresa’s School, North Kaneshie, Accra.
