Covid-19: Ghana confirms 26 cases every hour from July 6 to July 11

Ghana has recorded 3,749 cases within a week, pushing the country’s caseload to 23,834.

However, within the week, six more persons have died of the virus, taking the death toll to 135 as of July 7, 2020.

The data means, on the average, the country confirmed at least 624 cases daily in the last six days.

It also meant that averagely there were 26 confirmed cases every hour from Monday, July 6 to Saturday, July 11, 2020.

The updates from the Ghana Health Service shows that Monday, July 6, recorded the highest numbers of cases –992; followed by 891 confirmed cases on July 7. There was no reported case on Wednesday, but on July 9, Thursday, 854 cases were confirmed, with 641 new reported infections on Friday.

On Saturday, July 11, the updates showed 371 fresh cases, while the country’s active cases is pegged at 4,487 active.

The six people who died from the disease had underlying conditions, including hypertension, puerperal sepsis, chronic kidney disease and Cerebrovascular accident, also known as stroke.

The disease persons had ages ranging from 24 to 71 and were from the Norther, Oti and Central regions.

Ghana recorded its first case of covid-19 on March and the first death on March 21.
