The Vice President of The Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has praised the Ashanti Monarch, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his immense contribution to nation-building.
In an exclusive interview with The Ghana Report at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday, March 3, 2024, the Vice President noted that Ghana owed her enviable status as politically stable, socially cohesive, and a nation driving towards a prosperous future to the wise counsels of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He described the Asantehene as phenomenal for the way he impartially attended to competing forces in Ghana, driving through as an instrument of peace.
Dr Bawumia wondered how Ghana would have been without a ”consummate and quintessential patriot” as Asantehene who extended his tentacles to international corridors to canvass support for Ghana.
As the King marks his silver jubilee on the Gold Stool of the Ashanti Kingdom, the Vice President, who is also the flagbearer of the Governing New Patriotic Party, NPP, in the upcoming general elections in Ghana, wished him well, adding, “May Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II live long, for the great Ashanti Kingdom, Ghana, the world and humanity.”
