Earth tremors have hit some parts of Accra.
The tremors occurred at approximately 11:53 am on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Some areas that experienced the tremor are Gbawe, Asylum Down, Adabraka, Mallam, Weija and McCarthy Hill.
According to the Android Earthquake Alerts System, the seismic movement reached magnitude 4.0, making it one of Ghana’s strongest earthquakes.
The epicentre was located in the western part of Accra, 10 km from Gbawe.
The phenomenon occurred two times in the space of five hours.
The first was experienced at 6:53 am, also in the western part of Accra, 10 km from Gbawe.
Meanwhile, a team of experts from the Ghana Geological Survey Department (GSSD) have been deployed to the epicentre to collect data.
