Emotional Moments At Kwadwo Akwaboah’s One-Week Celebration(Photos)

Family, friends and colleagues could not hold their tears at the one-week celebration of the late Highlife musician, Kwadwo Akwaboah held at Trede, off the Obuasi Road on Tuesday, May 30.

A host of Ghanaian musicians including Nicholas Omane Acheampong, Strongman, and friends of the late singer’s son, Akwaboah Jnr, supported the bereaved family.

Kwadwo Akwaboah passed away at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, after a short illness.

The news of his death was announced by his son Akwaboah Jr on his Facebook page.

The late Kwadwo Akwaboah was a passionate organist and a singer from the early 90s known for his popular song, ‘Awerekyekyere’.

The veteran highlife legend and record producer went blind in the middle of his career whilst living in Amsterdam, Holland. He later moved to Ghana to join his family.
