A young man, Isaac Kofi Boakye, has been arrested for posing as a police officer in Konongo, in the Ashanti Region.

The fake police officer was busted on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, following an investigation by a police team that revealed that Kofi Boakye was not a member of the Ghana Police Service.

However, he has been holding himself for the past six months as a police chief inspector stationed at the Form Police Unit Headquarters in Accra.

During the investigation, Kofi Boakye revealed that he was on sick leave.

The police team, led by Inspector Alex Nkansah, became suspicious of his act, which compelled them to probe the issue further.

The police found one black long-sleeved police uniform and one camouflage long-sleeved police uniform with his name, I.K. Boakye, boldly embossed on it in his room.

The police also found one black police boot, a pair of handcuffs, one beret, a camouflage cap, two inspector ranks, two chief inspector ranks, and two lanyards.

Kofi Boakye is yet to be arraigned.
