Five Ghanaian women coaches arrive in Netherlands for training attachment

Five women’s football coaches from Ghana have arrived in the Netherlands for the second phase of a coach education program organised by the Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The coaches – Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo, Charles Anokye Frimpong, Joyce Boatey-Agyei, Anita Wiredu and Edna Quagraine – had been receiving training online since the beginning of the year.

During their time in the Netherlands, the coaches will be attached to clubs such as Ajax Amsterdam, Feyenoord Rotterdam, PSV Eindhoven and PEC Zwolle, where they will receive training on topics including match analysis, physical development of players, scouting, tactical training, team preparation and training, training of amateur players and developing playing style.

The GFA has also sent two coaches, Yussif Basigi and Baba Nuhu, to Germany for a one-month attachment with Bundeliga side TSG Hoffeinheim.

The technical directorate of the GFA arranged these opportunities for the coaches to improve their technical capacity and help them keep up with modern trends in football.

The training in the Netherlands is being spearheaded by UEFA Coaching instructor Hesterine de Reus and experts from some top football clubs in the country.
