Former Black Stars coach Avram Grant qualifies Zambia for 2023 AFCON
Former head coach of the Ghana national team, Avram Grant has secured qualification with the Zambia national team to play at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The experienced coach was appointed new head coach of Zambia by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) in December 2022.
Since taking over, he has been working on players to get the best out of them for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Over the past weekend, Avram Grant shocked Ivory Coast when he led the Chipolopolo to beat the Elephants 3-0 at home.
The result saw Zambia climbing over Ivory Coast in the standings of Group H of the qualifiers for the next AFCON.
Now on 12 points, Zambia have qualified for the 2023 AFCON which will be staged in Ivory Coast between January and February of 2024.
Coach Avram Grant and his Zambian outfit will hope to prepare very well to try and win the AFCON trophy at the tournament.
