Former Asante Kotoko striker, Andy Kumi Francis has joined Bechem United on a permanent deal ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The 23-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the 2021/22 MTN FA Cup finalist after terminating his contract with the Porcupine Warriors due to lack of playing time.

Andy Kumi failed to make a single appearance for the Porcupine Warriors in the 2021-22 season and only made the bench on five occasions.

Kumi joined the Kotoko in 2021 on a long-term deal after an impressive spell with Unistar Academy but has struggled to establish himself as a mainstay in the team since his arrival.

He will be hoping to play a massive role for the Hunters ahead of the new campaign having struggled at Asante Kotoko despite his promising start.

Kumi was included in the Black Stars provisional man squad for 2021 Africa Cup Nations [AFCON] qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome but was dropped from the final list.

He is expected to fill the void left in the Bechem team by the departure of top marksman Augustine Okrah who has joined Simba SC in Tanzania.
