Former NPP Presidential Aspirant Owusu-Adjapong Is Dead

Former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Felix Owusu-Adjapong has passed on after a short illness.

The former Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru Constituency died on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

He was 79.

Mr Owusu-Adjapong served as the Majority Leader of Parliament between 2005 and 2008.

He served as the Minister of Transport and Communications, Minister of Energy, and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs under former President John A. Kufuor’s administration.

Mr Owusu-Adjapong announced his resignation from seeking re-election to contest the party’s presidential primaries in 2007.

He was one of the seventeen candidates who contested in the 2008 presidential primaries in the NPP and lost to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who won by 47.9%.
