GFA elections: Voting enters second round as three candidates ‘fight’ for the seat

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential elections has taken a drastic turn as delegates are expected to go for a second round in a bid to elect the next President.

After the keenly contested race, three candidates are to compete for the next round as one the candidates opted to step down for the others to contest.

The candidates; Kurt Okraku, George Afriyie and Nana Yaw Amponsah have made it to the second round with Fred Pappoe stepping down from the race.

Kurt Okraku polled 43 votes, George Afriyie also polled 40 votes, Nana Yaw Amponsah secured 27 votes and Fred Pappoe was able to pull 6 votes.

From the results, Kurt Okraku is leading with a close margin of 3 votes.

In all, one hundred and seventeen delegates (117) voted with one vote being rejected.

This means the first female FA candidate, Amanda Clinton and Lawyer Ankomah Mensah recorded zero votes.
