Gladson Awako denies spiritual attack claims, stating he was out due to health issues

Experience playmaker, Gladson Awako has rubbished the earlier speculations that he used spiritual attacks and fears as reasons of him being out of action for some time now

The 31-year-old joined Hearts of Oak from Great Olympics after an impressive display last season but is still yet to feature in a competitive game this season.

The ex- TP Mazembe midfielder was sent home prior to their game against CI Kamsar in the CAF Champions League of which earlier reports cited spiritual attacks as the reason but the player has refused that stating he wasn’t rather feeling well.

However, Gladson Awako met the Teshie Youth Chief last Monday who after exhibiting his support, inspired him to return to the ‘Phobians’ of which he joined their training days ago.

Speaking to TV3 in an interview, the former Berekum Chelsea star has stated he was only out of action because of health issues and has urged everyone to ignore the initial claims. He said;

“When I joined the team, before God and man I wasn’t feeling well,” he told TV3. “My teammates, the team manager, they were all aware, the coaches were all aware because I was having serious running stomach,” he added.

“I asked for permission from the club which they granted me to go and cure myself. I don’t believe there were any other things like what people were saying. They were totally different.”

He is fully fit and poised at the moment and is very likely he will feature in their game against Algerian side JS Saoura this weekend in the first leg of the playoff round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
