GPL 2022/23: Nominees For Player, Coach Of The Month For February Announced

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has shortlisted top performers for the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League NASCO Player of the Month and Coach of the Month awards for February 2023.

Four players have been shortlisted based on their impressive performances for their respective clubs last month.

The nominated players are:

Francis Andy Kumi (Kotoku Royals)

Kumi has been instrumental in the Royals’ impressive form in recent times as the team tries to move out of the relegation zone.

He scored three goals in four matches played in the month and has one MVP title for his effort.

Hafiz Konkoni  (Bechem United)

Top 4 contender Bechem United has Konkoni to thank for his explosive display on the field scoring 5 goals for his side after 4 appearances in the month.

He has an MVP title to his credit.

Abass Samari Salifua (Accra Lions)

Salifua scored 4 goals in 4 appearances during the month under review, the player was awarded the MVP title in three of those matches.

Steven Mukwala Desse (Asante Kotoko SC)

Desse made 4 appearances for the Porcupine Warriors and scored 2 goals to keep up in the title race, he has an MVP title to his credit for the month.

 

Meanwhile, three coaches who led their teams to impressive results in February have also been shortlisted for the NASCO Coach of the Month Award.

Below are the nominees for the Coach of the Month- February:

Paa Kwesi Fabin – Aduana Stars

Paa Kwesi Fabin saw his Aduana Stars win three and draw one out of the four matches played last month. His team scored five goals without conceding.

His team currently sit on top of the league log with 36 points after 19 matches played.

Umar Abdul Rabi – Medeama SC

Coach Abdul Rabi also guided Medeama to win three games, drawing one last month. They scored seven goals and conceded two.

His team is currently seventh on the league log with 28 points after game week 19.

Karim Zito – Dreams FC

Coach Zito’s Dreams FC won two, drew one and lost one in the four matches played. They scored four goals and conceded two.

They are currently occupying the ninth position with 26 points.

Winners will be announced by the FA on Friday, March 3, 2023, and will receive a Television set each from sponsor Electroland Ghana Limited.
