Hearts of Oak lose 3-2 to Accra Lions in friendly ahead of CAF CL tie against CI Kamsar
Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday afternoon suffered a 3-2 defeat to Accra Lions FC in a friendly match as the side continued preparations for their CAF Champions League campaign.
The match which was played at the Accra Sports Stadium saw the newly-promoted side taking an early lead through Oliver Amedor but the league champions clawed back into the game with an equalizer from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
The Phobians went ahead to take a 2-1 lead before the break when Isaac Mensah unleashed a thunderbolt which beat Lions goalkeeper Appiah Kubi.
Accra Lions FC staged a brave comeback to equalize and later got the match-winner through prolific forward Rauf Salifu.
Hearts of Oak will return to training on Tuesday to continue preparations for the CAF Champions League encounter one leg encounter against CI Kamsar next weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The winner advances to the next stage of the competition.
