A disappointed parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Suzy Afua Adoboe says she is shocked by results of her defeat to actor John Dumelo as announced by officials of the Electoral Commission at the just ended NDC primaries.

According to her, the margin is unbelievable.

She noted “I was hoping to win, I knew the race was going to be a close call but I did not expect the margin to be this wide”.

Addressing the press after the results, she highlighted the need for all to rally behind the party’s chosen candidate, John Dumelo as he prepares for a much tougher task ahead in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary election.

“We are all one people, under one umbrella. The fact that I did not win does not mean I am no more an NDC member, I still believe in the NDC so I have to support my brother, John,” she said in her concession speech.

She is assuring the general public and NDC supporters that the NDC is committed to leading the country in a more unified way.

At the end of the polls, John Dumelo won by 758 votes while his only contender, Afua Adoboe salvaged a paltry 99 votes.

A total of 859 delegates voted in the elections.

Teo ballots were rejected.
