Interior Minister Renews Curfew Hours In Bomaa and Bunkpurugu Townships

The Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery has, by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours imposed on Bunkpurugu township in the North East Region and Bomaa township and its environs in the Ahafo Region.

The Bunkpurugu township and its environs were previously under a curfew from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am and the new hours start from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am respectively.

The Bomaa township and its environs on the other hand were also under a curfew from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am and based on the new directive from the Ministry of Interior, the township is to observe a new curfew hours starting from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.

In separate statements issued by the Interior Minister on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, he urged Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and People of Bomaa and Bunkpurugu townships to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace to the areas.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has issued a total ban on all persons in the Bunkpurugu and Bomaa townships from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapon.

The statement from the Ministry of Interior assured of arresting any person found with any arms or ammunition in the aforementioned areas.
