Jackie Ankrah rejoins industry with new song, Hallelujah!

After almost two decades of silence, Ghanaian broadcaster and singer Jackie Ankrah has returned to the music scene with a new project.

Madam Jackie Ankrah, who used to sing renditions of the national anthem, has released a song titled Hallelujah, featuring a South African gospel musician.

Explaining where she has been, Madam Ankrah said she was engaged in many jobs with the government as well as other entities.

“I was working with national security as the head of the information department. I worked there for about 12 years which kept me very busy. But I felt the Lord call me,” she said.

The ace broadcaster and daughter of a Former Head of State started her career in 1993 at GBC and released her first album in 1998, titled This Is My Time, produced by the late Danny Nartey.

She worked on her second album in 2001 with producer Eric Antonio and featured great musicians like Mark Tonto and Ackarh Blay but went silent in the music industry after the project.
