John Mahama donates GHC100k to RTU after courtesy call

Former President, John Dramani Mahama, demonstrated his support for Real Tamale United (RTU) by donating a generous sum of one hundred thousand Ghana cedis.

This philanthropic gesture followed a meeting held in Accra on Wednesday between Mahama and the club’s management.

During the meeting, the club’s management seized the opportunity to apprise Mr. Mahama of the current state of the club and the ongoing efforts to revive its former glory.

Mahama, who is also the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed his delight at the courtesy call and reminisced about his previous collaborations with management teams to bolster the fortunes of the Northern Blues.

The Public Relations Officer of the club revealed that Mr. Mahama pledged his unwavering support to the current management in their endeavors to restructure RTU, ensuring its sustainability and vibrancy within Ghanaian football.

Subsequently, Mahama made the substantial donation of one hundred thousand cedis to the club.

In response, the CEO of RTU, Zakaria Safianu, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Mahama for the generous contribution, emphasizing its crucial role in enabling the club to fulfill its pending matches.

RTU are currently bottom of the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points from 29 games, with a game in hand.
