An LAFC fan reportedly racially abused Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil following the latest El Trafico match in Major League Soccer.
The Los Angeles Galaxy suffered a 2-1 defeat against Los Angeles Football Club in the derby clash where Paintsil played the entire game.
Painstil was instrumental in the game completing two out of six dribble attempts, passing the ball accurately 28 out of 31 times, and winning eight of 17 ground duels.
However, after the match, a fan of Los Angeles Football Club posted a racist message on Paintsil’s Instagram page in response to one of his “stories”.
The individual posted “Mon Key couldn’t do anything today” and added a laughing emoji to the message which drew widespread condemnation in the comment section of the social media platform Reddit.
Since joining the side, Paintsil has scored two goals and provided two assists in seven MLS games.
