A 23-year-old lady identified as Nafisatu Latif has committed suicide by poisoning herself over a broken heart from her boyfriend at Nkawie Toase in the Ashanti Region.
The incident happened on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Information gathered indicates that Nafisatu had doubts about her relationship with her boyfriend, suspecting that he may be cheating on her.
She decided to poach one of her friends for her boyfriend to test his loyalty.
Subsequently, the friend whom she used as bait did not provide any feedback and eventually started ignoring her calls.
This development sparked a heated argument between Nafisa and her boyfriend for about a month until last Saturday evening when she drank poison to end it all.
Residents, upon realizing she had drunk poison, immediately rushed her to Nkawie Government Hospital on Saturday evening.
She was later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where she passed away on Monday morning.
Nafisatu Latif was buried by the Muslim community at Nkawie yesterday as per Islamic customs.
