National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the party to rescue the country from what he describes as the ‘Chop Chop’ Akufo-Addo- Bawumia government.
The NDC Chairman is accusing the Akufo-Addo government of draining the state’s coffers.
Speaking at the 2020 Budget forum in Accra on Wednesday, Ofosu Ampofo said he is saddened by the current state of the country.
“Its a very sad day. I feel very sad and I ask myself, this Ghana that we have suffered, is it the way the country is going? (sic).
“This chop chop is currently tied into the position of top levels in the country so you can imagine if we have to descend this chop chop to the district level, ” he said in reference to the upcoming referendum on December 17.
“The number of ministers, appointees…who are paid with tax payers money…This bloated government is taking all the money supposed to address the challenges of the masses in the country. ”
“All this money is going into the stomach of the Kwashiokor government, the stomach is getting bigger by the day leaving the economy drained, ” he said.
The Chairman urged the Ghanaians to come together to ensure the sitting government is booted out of office come 2020.
Ofosu Ampofo believes giving the NPP another four year term will be the biggest mistake in the history of the country.
