Former President John Dramani Mahama has picked the number one spot on the ballot for the internal polls to elect a National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for the 2024 elections.

The former Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Kojo Bonsu, follows keenly on the number two spot, while former Finance Minister Kwabena Duffour picked number three.

Earlier, the fourth candidate Ernest Kwaku Kobeah withdrew from the contest before the balloting was done.

Briefing the media on the latest development, Chairman of the NDC Vetting Committee, Edward Doe Adjaho, said the balloting was done after the successful vetting of the three candidates.

The NDC’s Presidential and Parliamentary primaries have been scheduled for May 13, 2023.

Per the party’s outline, aspirants who have issues with the vetting process can appeal from March 30 to April 6, 2023, before the main primaries on May 13.
