Award winning investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has lauded president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for taking swift measures with regards to his recent documentary that exposed the alleged corrupt practices of the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authroity (PPA), Adjenim Boateng Adjei, in handing out government contracts.

Manasseh’s latest documentary which premiered on August 21, 2019 revealed  that a company by name Talent Discovery Limited (TDL), which was incorporated in June 2017, had won a number of government contracts through restrictive tendering.

The documentary also confirmed that the company was engaged in selling these contracts it had won.

Undercover encounters with the General Manager of the Company, Thomas Amoah, revealed that the company was selling a ¢22.3 million road contract to K-Drah Enterprise, a fake company Manasseh used for the investigation.

In less than 24 hours after the airing of the documentary, the president has written through the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, to suspend the PPA boss. The Office of the Special Prosecutor has also invited the suspended Chief Executive Officer for questioning.

It is in response to these actions that Manasseh azure has written a Facebook post to commend the president.

“The swift response by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to #ContractsForSale is very commendable. The suspension and referral of the case to CHRAJ and the OSP are very appropriate. Let’s hope the state investigative bodies give the characters in the documentary a fair hearing. They should be exonerated if they should. And they should be punished if they should. I have done my part. The President has done his part,” he wrote.
