Musician Fameye crowned chief in Wassa

Ghanaian musician Fameye has been enstooled ‘Wassa Nyankonton’ in the Wassa Traditional Area in the Western Region of Ghana.

The musician born, Peter Fameye Bonzah, according to the elders and chief of the Wassa Traditional Area has projected Wassa on the map through his music.

“The name of my grandfather Nana Kwesi Sumbra II that I am giving to Fameye today amongst all musicians in Ghana is ‘Wasa Nyankonton’’ the chief explained before the musician was enthroned.

Expressing his gratitude to the people and appreciating his role as a sub-divisional chief, Fameye said “I would like to thank the chief and his elders for this title and honor. I thank him so much and everyone gathered here”.

I would like to say that, “This honor that has been bestowed upon me by the chief and his elders, I will make sure that they do not regret it. I would do everything to uplift the name of the community. I will also render help within my means to the youth for development.”

Fameye is a Ghanaian rapper and musician from Bogoso. He is best known for his single “Nothing I Get”. He released a remix of the song which featured Article Wan, Medikal and Kuami Eugene. He was a member of the MTN Hitmaker Season 3. He won an award for the best new artiste of the year at the 2020 VGMA’s.

He attended Odorgonno Senior High School and completed in 2013. He was formally a rapper in his high school days before switching to the Afrobeats genre.
