My call ups to Black Stars will be based on commitment – CK Akonnor
Many have raised concerns about how the newly appointed Black Stars coach, C.K Akonnor will handle egoistic attitude of some Black Star players, but the former Black Stars captain has reaffirmed his commitment to the job and said he is available to work with only committed players.
He explained that his call ups to the national team will be based on the player’s commitment to play for Ghana.
“To play for the national team they must show commitment. It doesn’t matter if they are stars in their club teams”, he said in the interview. Black Stars Coach CK Akonnor will not entertain uncommitted players in the National team.
The former Kotoko Coach took over as head trainer of the senior national team, replacing Kwesi Appiah who was not given a contract extension.
His first assignment as Black Stars Coach could be in a friendly game in March this year.
