‘My Son Wanted To Be A Doctor’- Black Sherif’s Father reveals

Kwabena Frimpong, father of the newly crowned Artiste of the Year Black Sherif has revealed that his son wanted to be a doctor at the beginning and not a musician.

Mr. Frimpong who was over-elated concerning the achievement of his son in the music industry said God knows why his son developed more passion for music than his medical profession.

The father, speaking to Asaase Radio and monitored by The Ghana Report,  welcomed the news after the son was announced the main Artist of the Year at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) said, he and his wife (Black Sherif’s mother) were very excited and proud of their son.

That was when he disclosed that his son’s dream of becoming a doctor has changed to another great talent and profession, as a musician.

The parents who are currently out of the country showed appreciation to families, friends, fans, and the media, especially for promoting Black Sherif’s songs in Ghana.

The 24th VGMA took place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

The 21-year-old musician took away four prestigious awards which are Artist of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Song, and Best Music Video.
