Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has stated that President Akufo-Addo will this weekend address faith-based organizations in Ghana on the fears that Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) may bring, and finally bring clarity to the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) debate.

The call for clarity comes after series of agitations by faith based organizations, civil society, politicians and some section of the populace who have been demanding the immediate withdrawal of the CSE in the basic school curriculum.

A tweet from Mr. Oppong Nkrumah on Friday, indicated that the President will finally bring clarity on the government’s position on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry at a press briefing on Tuesday suggested that faith-based organizations formed part of the decision making body which reviews and ensures that educational curriculum conforms with the cultural norms of the society.

“There are faith-based organizations on both the Ghana Education Service and the National Council for Curriculum Assessment (NaCCA) governing councils to help ensure that our curriculum is at line with our values as a nation, we appeal to the general public and all faith-based organizations to exercise restraint and verify facts of official government policies before making public pronouncements, ” Dr. Matthew Opoku Premepeh told the media during the briefing.
