Nora Hauptle steps up player monitoring ahead of 2024 Women’s AfCON

In a proactive move to strengthen the Ghanaian national women’s football team, Black Queens coach Nora Hauptle recently visited Jennifer Yeboah in Egypt.

Yeboah, a dynamic forward, currently plays for ZED F.C. in the Egyptian Women’s Premier League. This visit is part of Hauptle’s ongoing scouting tour to identify and monitor potential talents ahead of the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.

Three weeks prior, Hauptle was in Italy, where she observed the impressive performance of Bénédicte Simon. The 26-year-old defender, who is of Ghanaian descent, is currently on loan from Juventus Women to U.S Sassuolo Calcio. Simon played a pivotal role in U.S Sassuolo Calcio’s narrow 1-0 victory over Fiorentina, contributing significantly to the last-minute decider that sealed the win.

Born in Mantes-la-Jolie, outside of Paris, Simon’s Ghanaian roots make her a potential asset for the Black Queens.

As the countdown to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations begins, Hauptle’s scouting efforts are set to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Black Queens.
