The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced an emergency National Council meeting slated for today, Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Alisa Hotel.

In a statement issued by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party conveyed warm greetings and notified members of the upcoming meeting, convened by National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim.

The agenda for the meeting will include discussions on the recent reshuffle within the party’s parliamentary leadership, as well as the unveiling of the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team.

Additionally, attention will be directed towards the recent majority caucus meeting with President Nana Akufo-Addo, where Majority Leader Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s decision to step down was announced.

The decision has stirred controversy, with some key figures labeling it unprecedented, amid speculation that Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was forced to resign.
