OFFICIAL: Ghana defender Daniel Amartey part ways with Leicester City

Ghana international, Daniel Amartey is leaving Leicester City after spending close to eight years at the club.

In an official club statement from the former English Premier League champions on Monday, it said the Black Stars centre-back will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

Daniel Amartey is one of seven first-team players who will cease to be Leicester City players at the end of the month.

“Seven senior professionals are among those confirmed to leave Leicester City upon the expiration of their respective contracts this June.

“Youri Tielemans, Çağlar Söyüncü, Daniel Amartey, Nampalys Mendy, Ryan Bertrand, Ayoze Pérez, and Tetê will all bring their spells at King Power Stadium to an end,” parts of the club statement said today.

Daniel Amartey, 28, joined Leicester City in the summer transfer window of 2016 and has spent seven years at the club.

He is leaving the club after a difficult season which has seen the side being relegated from the English Premier League to the Championship.
