Ghanaian rapper Andy Nii Akrashie known in showbiz as OJ Blaq has passed on at age 40.
It is not clear what could have caused his sad death but it is reported that OJ Blaq died in the early hours of Thursday, August 17, 2023.
OB Blaq began his music career in the early 2000s and released his debut album, “The Blaq Mixtape” in 2006.
He became popular in the music circles when he released the hit song ‘Chalewote’ which featured Asem and Captain Planet.
OJ Blaq in one of his interviews revealed that he is battling with kidney disease but has been visiting the health care centres for treatment.
The secular artiste later switched to become a gospel musician.
OJ Blaq also starred in some Ghanaian local movies.
“It’s not easy moving from one path to the other. Now I do Christian urban gospel music. My switch to Christian urban music was from my experience with kidney failure, so I decided to do gospel music with the same old rhythm style but different wording because the now Christians are different Christians,” he noted in an interview on Asaase radio in 2022.
We thank God for your life @ojblaqGh
Early detection of kidney disease is the best way to treat it. Diet, exercise, medications, lifestyle changes help too.
