One Dead As Illegal Miners Clash In the Atewa Forest

One person has been found dead, with others injured, in the Atewa Forest in the Abuakwa South Municipality in the Eastern Region, after a violent clash between two illegal mining groups.

Sources claim that there was a bloody gunfire exchange after a misunderstanding.

The illegal miners reportedly fled after the fight, leaving the dead body in the bush.

After receiving a tip-off, the Ghana Police Service deployed personnel deep into the forest to retrieve and deposit the body at the Kibi Government Hospital morgue.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are poised to serve justice to the perpetrators of the crime.
