Charterhouse, the brain behind the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), has provided the opportunity for burgeoning musicians to file for the ‘Unsung’ category in the upcoming award event.
After several deliberations on how to showcase the talents of unrecognised artistes, the organisers decided to include the ‘Unsung’ Category in their nominations.
A statement released by Charterhouse disclosed that the winner of the ‘Unsung’ category would be given the opportunity to perform live on stage during the main awards night.
Apart from that, all the nominees will be given the opportunity to perform live before the main award ceremony commences.
Charterhouse further explained the process for selecting the winners.
“Sign up is 100% based on social media; entrants are expected to have their fans, supporters, and sympathisers post their picture(s) across all social media platforms, tag them and add the hashtag #24thVGMAUnsung. The acts with the most tags get nominated in this year’s Unsung initiative,” the organisers revealed.
